BGF engineers high performance fabrics to meet the stringent criteria
of the advanced composites industry. Three different fibers are utilized:
fiber glass, aramid, and carbon. Each fiber offers its own unique advantages
when engineered into a woven fabric, thus allowing the highest performance
possible from the end product.
Aramid fibers are several times stronger than steel, light weight, and
nonflammable. Carbon provides very high strength &, high thermal conductivity
and is very low in weight & density. Fiber glass has high tensile strength,
high heat & chemical resistance, and is dimensionally stable. BGF's finish
technology creates a bond between the specified fabric and our customer's
resin system. The resulting composite fabric meets or exceeds military,
aerospace, and other relevant specifications.
Applications: Aircraft interiors, primary
and secondary structures, ducting, windmill blades, helicopter rotor blades,
radomes, avionics, brake linings, transportation/automotive, tooling.
