BGF engineers high-performance fabrics to meet the stringent criteria of the advanced composites industry. Three different fibers are utilized: fiberglass, Aramid, and carbon. Each fiber offers its own unique advantages when engineered into a woven fabric; thus allowing the highest performance possible from the end product.
Aramid fibers are several times stronger than steel, light weight, and nonflammable. Carbon provides very high strength and high thermal conductivity and is very low in weight and density. Fiberglass has high tensile strength, high heat, and chemical resistance, and is dimensionally stable. BGF’s finish technology creates a bond between the specified fabric and our customer’s resin system. The resulting composite fabric meets or exceeds military, aerospace, and other relevant specifications.
